Hot rolled (HR) steel round bars are steel bars that are pressed or rolled at high temperatures and then cooled at room temperature. They are strong, ductile, and formable, and are used in many applications, including construction, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Production 

  • HR steel round bars are made from iron ore or recycled scrap metal
  • The scrap is liquefied in electric arc furnaces at temperatures close to 3,000°F
  • The liquid metal is cast into ingots or billets
  • The ingots or billets are reheated to 2,000°F and forced through rolls to form the round bars

  • Length: +0.125″ / -0.062″
  • During the cutting process, the saw blade removes approximately 1/16″ (kerf) of material. This is a normal part of the manufacturing process and is already included within the stated cutting tolerances.
